Mike Chandler on the left and Frank Jancewicz
on the right. Though they both joined 002 in Sept. ’68, the sign was just wishful thinking in Jan or Feb '69. Bill Overstreet (KIA) was in the middle.

VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL
DEDICATION OF THE MONUMENT
CONSTITUTION GARDENS, WASHINGTON,D.C.
November 13, 1982
Standing before this monument, we see reflected in a
dark mirror dimly a time that was...
We remember - ourselves
our lovers
our friends
our nation
We remember - our enemies
our leaders
our buddies
our families
We remember - the dreams we shared
the fear and terror we endured
the lovemaking - the frivolity
the hate and the anger
the desire for survival, and its uncertainty
the desperate need to understand.
O Lord, Our God, let the outstretched arms of
this moment embrace us with tranquility and
Your compassion.
Standing before this monument, we see reflected in a
dark mirror dimly a chance to let go...
To let go of - pain
grief
To let of go - resentment
bitterness
guilt
To let go of - impossible dreams
old realities
lost innocence
the loss of unity
the loss of wholeness
O Lord, Our God, let the outstretched arms of this
moment be Your instrument of forgiveness and peace.
Standing before this monument, we see now a time of
honor an tribute...
For yet another generation of warriors who
answered the call
For yet another generation of patriots who
served at home
For yet another generation of families and
lovers who endured and sacrifices.
O Lord, Our God, we dedicate this monument to yet
another generation who rendered unto Caesar that
which is Caesar’s.
Let it be so, O Lord, Our God. AMEN.
